Met my aunt at Promenade and we went for dinner first at Daniel Boulub. Lovely place with warm lighting and a cozy but classy ambiance.
Had a three-course dinner with red wine for my aunt.
First came two little cheese puffs which were so yummy I only realised I hadn't taken a photo of it after they were gone. Slightly sticky and soft in the inside!!
Starters was duck terrine with toast.
Then handmade ricotta gnocchi. I officially love gnocchi. And there were quite few of them but they were realllyyy cheesy and thus filling.
Gooey chocolate on the inside!!!! Sinful. Delicious. :') I'm definitely going back for this.
Lion King was just one word-- awesome. and epic. and beautiful. and stunning. and surprising. and shocking. I do recognise that's more than one word. But they combined lovely touching songs with mechanical devices, changing sets, wonderful props, dances, and skillful performers who were able to mimic animal movements to such close resemblance. My favourite has to be the king. His voice is just so deep and powerful it just fills your soul up with.... emotion.
And yes, see what I mean? His voice is just great.
Spent some time watching the conductor as well, who was quite interesting to watch since he was rather animated. Plus, his hands were illuminated with a spotlight and the movements were really beautiful and graceful.
Only one grouse: the stage was kind of small which diminished the effect by quite a bit. It was only especially noticeable at the start and end when all the animals were on the stage and it looked crowded.
